Creating Ritual

How is a ritual created? What is the difference between ritual, meditation, trance, a visualisation or a journey?

I recently created a meditation ritual to help introduce my clients to the depth of my own meditation and mindfulness practice. It’s available as a free download here

My experience creating the mediation was ecstatic and I’ve been asked by several people to explain my process. And so I will share it here…

I began to study ritual in 2019, but I had a head start as a musician, a singer and a performer my whole life - thats around 25 adult years and counting.

In 2017 my interest in magical practices and correspondences was piqued. I began compiling my understanding of the symbols, colours, herbs and stones that would represent and call in the energy of the Goddess. I began deepening my awareness of the Chakra system.

My Sacred Leadership studies with Reclaiming Witchcraft Elder, Margi Curtis, brought into my awareness processes like trance and breathwork.

I’ve sat in many women’s circles learning chants and calling the elements, casting circle and journeying to the underworld.

What I’ve developed over this time, is a practice of mindfulness. I respectfully work with nature - as the flow is right, I move between the realms and beyond the bounds of time.

To create this ritual - of course, I followed my strategy and authority. If you are new to Human Design - Strategy and Authority is a pivotal piece which helps me to understand my unique decision making method, my timing and my flow.

I have the background in music, working with the elements and a depth of experience with chakras and correspondences - now with Human Design, I can manipulate time by feeling exactly how and when to create.

I could suggest that you use XYZ herb or this and that prop for your alter to create ritual… and while those aspects are helpful and supportive - your awareness of your own unique sense of timing - your rhythm, your beat… will guide you towards what you need and when you need it. To also understand your strongest sense - and how to fuel your brain, and the conditions to work within - stand out to me as primary to create anything in alignment to self, other and earth.

For this meditation I was prompted by words and conversations I was seeing around me - the synchronicities and signals. I was impacted by my experience in the ocean - and the healing available within this sacred place. I waited until the right timing and the portal opened up in front of me.

No fancy or elaborate tools needed. Just myself, my open and receptive awareness, a vision and an energetic response.

The ability to translate the ritual into a audio file to share was part of my developed technical abilities and interests that have been with me for a long time. What are the experiences and tools you have gathered on your journey? Don’t discredit them, no matter how they’ve been received in the past. They are a part of you.

So the difference between ritual, meditation, trance, visualisation, and journeying? We could split hairs - but they all hold sacred space, together or alone, to go within and find something true.

To find your flow and your unique way of creating - book a consult with me at your convenience.

Adonai.
